Red Wine Sangria

IMG_6536.JPGAlthough summer’s almost over, it’s not too late to make a batch of red wine sangria. Right? I love sangria and am often disappointed by restaurant sangria. Usually it’s too sweet and I like to taste the wine. This recipe is my new favourite combination and it has a nice punchy flavour. It goes down really easy on a summer, fall, winter or spring day. Especially with your girlfriends! -bvox

Red Wine Sangria
1 bottle of red wine (I like a Spanish Tempranillo)
1 cup orange liqueur (triple sec or cointreau)
1 cup Rosso (sweet vermouth)
1/4 cup simple syrup (optional)
1 lime, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 orange, thinly sliced
Other fruit as desired
Club soda or sprite

Combine all ingredients together (except club soda or sprite) in a large jug. Let sit at least a few hours. Pour over ice and top with club soda or sprite, and more fruit. IMG_6534.JPG

Yum! Never thought to add red vermouth to the wine/liqueur mix. Thanks Shiny 🙂
